To provide programs and services for members of Her Majesty's Armed Forces, auxiliary forces and others who support the purposes and objects of the Legion. Priorities include support of Veterans, local Cadet Corps, Seniors, and Youth.
The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #239 holds monthly meetings, every 3rd Tuesday to keep membership informed of all activities and accept new memberships. There are 3 levels of memberships available. Ordinary (RCMP or Armed Forces service), Associate (member of family served) and Affliate (community minded citizens). All members have voting priviledges.
The main programs and services we provide to the community are, but not limited to:
* Veteran's support
* Rememberance Day Service
* Poppy Fund Drive
* Support Fort Smith Cadet corps
* Provide donations to Youth, Seniors, Veterans and other
organizations
* Various Social leagues and activities such as cribbage, pool,
darts, horseshoes
* Bar/Lounge services for Members and their guests
Our newly renovated basement is now available to host any type of special event, such as a conference, or wedding reception. Other features of the conference room includes wireless internet access to help meet your business needs. Please contact the Manager for more information.
We may be interested in partnering with other organizations if the benefits are derived by Veterans, Youth, and Seniors.

To provide recreation, sport and youth programs for all residents of Fort Resolution.
There are four recreation facilities maintained by the Recreation department. The Community Hall is used for special events, rentals, bingos, meetings, and other community events. The Lakeview Arena supports Minor Hockey programs, as well as drop in leagues, and public skating times. There is also a full sized ball park and waterfront beach available for use in the community. The Recreation Committee is also committed to assisting your group in fundraising initiatives.
A Community Garden is available to all residents to plant vegetables to be harvested. This service is free! Summer programming also includes Canada Day events and a full day summer camp. Please contact the Recreation manager for more information on dates.
Kidsport funding is delivered through Sport North. The funding is available up to $300 per year to help cover the costs for your child to participate in organized sport. The recreation staff will assist you in completing the application.
If you are looking for volunteer opportunities, we are always looking for help to make these programs and special events a success. Your participation is vital step in building a healthy community.
