The ENR office located in Fort Smith, provides regional activities associated with the following departmental divisions: Wildlife, Forestry, and Environment. We are responsible for delivering programs and services in the communities of Fort Providence, Hay River, Fort Resolution and Fort Smith.

There are four recreation facilities maintained by the Recreation department. The Community Hall is used for special events, rentals, bingos, meetings, and other community events. The Lakeview Arena supports Minor Hockey programs, as well as drop in leagues, and public skating times. There is also a full sized ball park and waterfront beach available for use in the community. The Recreation Committee is also committed to assisting your group in fundraising initiatives.

A Community Garden is available to all residents to plant vegetables to be harvested. This service is free! Summer programming also includes Canada Day events and a full day summer camp. Please contact the Recreation manager for more information on dates.

Kidsport funding is delivered through Sport North. The funding is available up to $300 per year to help cover the costs for your child to participate in organized sport. The recreation staff will assist you in completing the application.

If you are looking for volunteer opportunities, we are always looking for help to make these programs and special events a success. Your participation is vital step in building a healthy community.
